INT. SANCTUARY – DAY
Darkness.
Fluids are heard being SUCKED through tubes. They come to a stop. Only a low electrical HUM can be heard.
CHIMERA
Custodian... Custodian! Awaken, Custodian... I have rebuilt you once again.
The CUSTODIAN’s eyes open. A couple of blinks as he focuses.
CHIMERA
I need you. Come to me.
The room is dark. Up ahead, a large glass tube is illuminated under red lights. Something floats within.

Meet Your Maker
Go to the Chimera
The Custodian walks through the darkness to the tube. He comes face to face with the Chimera, a twisted, deformed deviation of a human.
He presses his hand to the Chimera's glass tube.
CHIMERA
Extinction envelops this planet. Can you feel its grip upon us? It has taken so much already.

INT. SANCTUARY - DAY
The Custodian stands before the Chimera, hand pressed to the glass tube containing it.
CHIMERA
The age of humanity is coming to an end.
EXT. WASTELAND (25TH CENTURY) - DAY
Wind sweeps over a wasteland of sand. A broken hazmat mask falls to the ground.
CHIMERA
The disease tore through them...
INT. MICROSCOPIC SPECIMEN - DAY
A DNA helix shudders and breaks.
CHIMERA
...destroying the genetics of the infected.
EXT. RUINS (25TH CENTURY) - DAY
Corpses lie in the ruins of a city.
CHIMERA
Civilizations built upon their shoulders died with them.
A desperate, bloodied hand reaches out and falls to the ground.
EXT. WASTELAND (27TH CENTURY - PRESENT) - DAY
Next to a sun-bleached skeleton, an Extractor sits in the wasteland.
CHIMERA
But hope remains in the dead...
Red GenMat fills the Extractor's vial.
CHIMERA
The chance for a cure in those with uncorrupted genetics...
INT. SANCTUARY - DAY
Red GenMat fills the Chimera's tank.
CHIMERA
The key to humanity's salvation.
INT. OUTPOST - DAY
First person POV: The Custodian slashes through an Enforcer.
CHIMERA
You must kill for it.
First person POV: The Custodian shoots a hornet with a harpoon.
INT. SANCTUARY - DAY
The Chimera slams into the glass.
CHIMERA
Die for it!
INT. OUTPOST - DAY
First person POV: Cluster bombs bounce towards the Custodian and explode.
First person POV: A Swordsman jumps at the Custodian.
INT. SANCTUARY - DAY
Red GenMat swirls around the Chimera as the Custodian looks on.
CHIMERA
Bring it to me, Custodian and I will save this world.
FADE TO BLACK

The Custodian takes a step back from the Chimera.
CHIMERA
This Sanctuary is our fortress in a land of death. Activate it.
A light turns on above the activation lever.
OBJECTIVE TEXT
Activate The Sanctuary
Pull the lever
The Custodian moves through the darkness. He pulls the activation lever.
An electrical HUM is heard through the Sanctuary. Lights flicker as they turn on. Shutters on the windows slowly open, allowing bright sunlight to shine in.
CHIMERA
Uncorrupted genetic material... out there, in the bones of the dead. We need it. But other Sanctuaries will kill us for it.
The Advisors rise from the ground to their workstations. Lights focus on them.
CHIMERA
Your Advisors are at your command—clones with special immunities.
Prota, Metamorph, Chrona, Prosarmogi, Elpida.
Through them, I will take the next step in evolution, and a cure will be born.
Lights fade out on the Advisors. The Sanctuary settles into its regular state.
CHIMERA
Genetic material lies deep in the wasteland. Seize it.
A red light washes over the Command Center along with a holographic notification icon. A mechanical BEEP rings out.
The Custodian activates the Command Center.
